Validators are chosen based on total tokens staked across the network. Cosmos (ATOM)Ĭosmos offers staking returns of around 9%, but only if holding ATOMs in a supported wallet. However, running a validator node requires technical expertise and significant SOL holdings. Solana validators can earn staking returns around 7-9% for confirming transactions. Average staking yields are 8-14% for DOT. Tokens are staked on validators who process transactions and create new blocks. Polkadot (DOT)ĭOT uses a PoS system called Nominated Proof of Stake. No lockup is required to earn compounded rewards. You can stake ADA easily from a compatible wallet like Yoroi or Daedalus, with average APY around 5%. The Cardano network relies entirely on PoS. There is usually a lockup period of 3-12 months. Staking ETH helps secure the network in exchange for yields around 5-7%. Here are some of the top options: Ethereum (ETH)Įthereum is transitioning to proof-of-stake through its Beacon Chain merger. Several major cryptocurrencies allow staking to earn rewards. For crypto investors, it provides a simple way to put assets to work earning rewards instead of just sitting in a wallet. Staking uses far less energy than mining while still offering monetary incentives to secure the network. The more you stake, the greater your chance at being selected to validate blocks. Validators are chosen to add new blocks of transactions, verifying that network rules are being followed.Īs a reward for staking and validating, you earn more of the staked cryptocurrency from transaction fees and minting new coins. Instead of mining, PoS networks allow you to stake your coins to become a validator. Proof-of-stake uses a different method to add blocks to the blockchain. With proof-of-work coins like Bitcoin, specialized hardware runs complex computations to mine new blocks. It provides an alternative to energy-intensive cryptocurrency mining. What is Cryptocurrency Staking?Ĭryptocurrency staking is the process of validating transactions on proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchains and receiving rewards for doing so. Learning how to stake your crypto provides effortless income streams while strengthening emerging blockchain projects. In this beginner’s guide, we’ll explain what staking is and review some of the top coins like Ethereum, Cardano, and Polkadot that offer staking opportunities. This offers a more sustainable alternative to mining while supporting crypto networks. By participating in proof-of-stake validation, you can earn interest on coins you already own without having to sell them. Trello gold team board limit9/24/2023 Get used to sorting cards like this and periodically re-order cards as priorities shift. The advantage of having a "Done" column is that it lets you periodically review the work you've completed in the last week or month. You can also choose to immediately archive tasks that are done (more on that later). The "Done" list is for tasks that are completed. Until the editor is done with their part of the work, the task is pending for me and I want to get it out of my "in progress" lists. At this point, the video isn't finished yet, but my work on the video is done, for the time being. An example of this from my work: when I've finished recording a video, I hand it off to my editor. The "Waiting" list is for tasks where you've done all the work you can do and you're waiting for something or someone else. Depending on your preference, you can pull tasks into "Today" either every morning or every evening, to plan the next day. The "Today" list is, you guessed it, where you add tasks you want to get done today. It's better to have an imperfect plan for the week than no plan at all. Realistically, sometimes new tasks will be added during the week and you won't always be able to clear everything. Ideally, you only populate this list once a week and then empty it out over the course of the week. These are higher priority or more urgent tasks, that you want to get done by the end of the week. The "This Week" list is where you add tasks once a week, from the "In" list. But having it in the "In" list gives you peace of mind, because you know this will be processed eventually. Or, when a new task comes your way, you can make sure that it's added to the list, even if you don't have time to take care of it or prioritize it right that moment. One major advantage of using this list is that you can get stuff out of your head. Whenever a new task comes in from anywhere or you have a new idea, create a card for it in the "In" column. The "In" list is where all new work comes in. The lists we've created each have a specific purpose. On a new board, create the following lists: So let's get right into the practical steps. If that all sounds a bit abstract, don't worry: the best way to learn how to use a tool is to actually use it. Within a card, you can have descriptions, links, images, checklists, due dates, team members, comments and so on.Ī card can represent a unit of work and this unit of work can be moved between different lists (or stages) on a board and even between different boards. Each board contains one or several lists and each list can contain many cards. The workspace in Trello consists of boards, lists and cards. How to Set Up Your Personal Productivity Board If you've never used it before, I highly recommend you give it a try. They do have a premium plan, but you can use it for yourself and even with large teams, with few restrictions. Trello has become wildly popular over the last few years and one of the reasons is that it's not only fast and easy to use, it's also basically free forever. The software is loosely based on the Kanban project management method, but you can customize it to suit many different scenarios. They have an app for almost any device you can think of. Trello is a project management and task management app that works in your browser as well as on your phone or tablet.

Silent night book hodges9/24/2023 Wrap it all up with a nice slow arpeggio of a full G chord (yes, you can finally play the A string now!) and you’re done. Pull that finger off and there’s your B note. This way when you take it off, you’ve automatically got the C note in the melody. I punctuate these notes with the open D string on the second and third beats, alternating with the open G string as a pedal point on the offbeat.įor the twenty-second measure, form a D7 chord (you can leave the high E (1st) string open if you’d like) and add your pinky on the third fret of the B string. Measure twenty-one (the last “…sleep in heavenly peace.”) is a G chord again, but we hit a different note on each beat. I like to slow down the last four measures slightly to make the notes more deliberate. When we hit it, on the first beat of measure twenty, we will also hit the open low E (6th) string and play an arpeggio on the open D, G and B strings. Now comes the tricky part! On the last half of the third beat, we will hit the open G (3rd) string while sliding our ring finger up to seventh fret of the E string. What we’re going to do is to start out with our G chord (remember you don’t have to fret the A!), then on the third beat we will change the bass note from G to F# (2nd fret, 6th string). I’d also like to recommend using your ring finger of the melody’s G note (3rd fret, 1st string) in measure nineteen. Most people have to do this with their pinky and if the little finger’s not free, then you have to go through all the hassle of changing your whole chord. You’ll understand why when you see that the melody jumps from the A note (5th fret, 1st string) to the C at the 8th fret at the start of the next measure. I heartily recommend that you play this with your index finger on the fifth fret of the E, your ring finger on the seventh fret of the B and your middle finger on the seventh fret of the G string. "About this title" may belong to another edition of this title.Measure seventeen marks the return of our D chord from measure five. New York Times Book Review, December 20, 1998 The story of an enduring success is gracefully told. The text in this account of how Franz Gruber, the part-time organist, and Father Joseph Mohr, the young priest, happened to compose a charming carol for the parishioners in the Austrian village of Obendorf in 1818 doesn't say that mice got into the organ works but the crucial illustration shows a small rodent scampering away from the choir. While very different in its approach and artwork from Granfield's treatment of the subject, Hodges's Silent Night is more versatile and is a better bet for library purchase.Ĭopyright 1997 Reed Business Information, Inc. Glowing shades of gold and brown accentuate faces lifted in harmony, creating feelings of warmth, wonder, and contentment. Full-page watercolor illustrations capture quaint mountain village scenes. Hodges includes stories about wartime enemies who forgot their hatred and joined together, sometimes across enemy lines, to share a few verses of the song. With its creators all but forgotten, "Silent Night" eventually became an international favorite. Franz Gruber, a local schoolmaster, wrote a simple tune to accompany the words. In compelling prose, Hodges recounts the young priest's struggle to write a poem that would bring the beauty of the Christ Child's humble, but sacred birth night to a congregation that expected to celebrate with music. On Christmas Eve in 1818, in a small Austrian town, Father Mohr's church organ broke down. Grade 1-3?This account of the beloved carol's history pays tribute to its creators and to the song itself. |
